Our Cattery and Visits

*** Visits with us in order to pay your waitlist deposit in person may be booked in advance after completing the Questionnaire.  Please note that these visits do not include cattery tours or visits with kittens.  The health and safety of all cats and kittens in our cattery is our main priority and kittens are vulnerable until they have been fully vaccinated***

People regularly ask to come visit our cattery.   We love to host visits with those of you interested in finding out more about Bengal cats with the honest intention of adding one of our kittens to their family.  The majority of our time is taken up with the care of our animals and maintenance of our cattery so when we take the time out of that busy schedule to meet with you, we want to know that you are genuinely interested in finding out whether one of our Bengal kittens will be a good fit for your family.  We’ve prepared a detailed Questionnaire for each prospective visitor to complete online prior to us agreeing to pencil them in for a visit.  We find the Questionnaire helps to limit the visits we receive from families who are just looking for a fun outing for their family on the weekend (yes, this DOES happen to us, more times than you can imagine).

We appreciate those of you who respect our time and what we do, and we are more than happy to let you into our home to meet our cats and learn more about the breed.  If you’re willing to take a few minutes to answer the questions we pose for you on our Questionnaire, we’ll have a better idea of your knowledge level surrounding Bengals, and your intentions in terms of owning one. This is very useful to us, as it not only helps us navigate the purpose of the visit but also assists us in being prepared to answer any specific questions you have for us during your visit about the type of kitten you are interested in adopting.

We limit cattery visits to the main living area of our home and allow visitors to interact only with those cats that are available at the time of the visit. This may include a few older, fully vaccinated kittens who are nearing their take-home dates, or some pets or breeding females who are in between litters and roaming about the house with us.  Cats that are in the breeding quarters, or maternity area, or are pregnant and resting, are completely off-limits to visitors.  Kittens don’t receive their first vaccinations until nine weeks of age and are not considered fully vaccinated until just before they leave our cattery, so visits with them are too risky.

Maternity Rooms

Below: our maternity/birthing rooms. These rooms are built right into our bedroom.  When we claim that each and every one of our kittens is born in our bedroom, we are not kidding.    When our queens are close to delivery we keep them here with us so that we can keep a close eye on them and be there for them during the entire delivery.  Being raised in a home environment is imperative to great socialization, and ensures the kittens grow up with all the sights and sounds (ok, noise!) of a busy, active family and household.  We keep the queens and kittens in a secure and safe environment until the kittens are old enough to explore the house and play underfoot at about 5 or 6 weeks of age.  We do not offer visits in the maternity areas of our cattery.

Below: Kitten Play Rooms

When the kittens begin to move around and play a bit more, we move them to another area of our home where they can safely play and explore and climb.  When not out playing around the house with us, they are tucked safely away in these rooms with mom to keep everyone safe when we're sleeping or not otherwise able to keep a close eye on them.

Stud Housing and Breeding Areas

Below: Heated/air-conditioned housing with year round outdoor access via cat doors to large safe outdoor enclosures. This is where the studs are housed and where some of our queens spend their time when they are not in the house with us.  Studs must be housed separately at all times because of spraying and the risk of unplanned mating so we make their homes as interesting and comfortable for them as possible with year-round outdoor access through their individual cat doors to safely enclosed outdoor recreation areas. We do not offer visits in the breeding area of our cattery.

**We are Limiting Cattery Visits at this time as they pose too much risk to the cats and kittens in terms of transmission of viruses and bacteria brought in on shoes and clothing, etc.  We are happy to visit with you in person outside of the cattery or to answer your questions by phone or email as always. Short visits for those on our waitlist in order to choose their kitten will be ACCOMMODATED as well. Thank you for your understanding.**
